Breakfast Run &
Langford Museum of Power - Olde Thyme Rally.

About 11 members and their machines turned up for the breakfast run plus a couple hanger-ons. The weather looked promising and we trundled off at a leisurely pace towards the Heybridge Basin in fine spirit with Pete leading as per usual. After about 30 minutes we arrived safely at the cafe where we overwhelmed the facilities by requesting breakfast times 11 - they are only equipped to cook 5 meals at a time! But they agreed to oblige us so we took seating outside and natted until the food & drinks arrived with the sun gently warming are bodies with the clearing sky. At £5.50 a head it seemed a little pricey, what do you expect for a yachtie hangout, but it was well received and soon devoured, although Keith thought it was a starter!
So all fuelled up we made the short journey to Langford, where the Maldon club had already set up and there didn't seem to be that many bikes there. We lined up the motorcycles for the show and wondered off to take a look around and chat with other exhibit owners. By the time we had done a lap of the show ground the number of spectators and exhibits had doubled and it was nice to see a good turnout of motor cycles, with some early and interesting examples to ponder over. The free tea tokens were most welcoming and exchanged for a real cups of tea (Heybridge café take note). All in all the show was a good event with some interesting vehicles to view and the museum of power well worth a visit and even the weather behaved (almost!).
